MELLONCELLI MobileLAB is a complete and versatile portable laboratory that performs diagnostic investigations on historical building materials simply and intuitively. This is possible because HygroLAB makes the basic techniques for the characterisation of natural and artificial stone materials and related degradation phenomena accessible to all those working in conservation of Cultural Heritage.
The analytical methods used to comply with Italian (UNIBeni Culturali) and European (EN-Conservation of Cultural Property) regulations and the user interface is multilingual.

THERMOGRAPHIC ANALYSIS
UNI 9252 and ISO 6781
This is a non-destructive analysis technique based on the acquisition of infrared images using a thermal camera, a special “camera” that detects the infrared radiation emitted by objects and returns a thermal image of them as output.
By using specific software, it is possible to process the photos to assess the presence of humidity.

REMOTE MONITORING

REMOTE MONITORING
For the most demanding customers, the dehumidification system can be integrated with one or more sensors that continuously detect the degree of humidity in the walls, temperature and ambient humidity.
With a simple click, the customer can check the operation of the system in real-time.
For installations in environments with landscape and environmental constraints, the sensors and being very small in size can be customised with RAL colours on request.

Contact hygrometer

ANALYSIS WITH CONTACT HYGROMETER
Analysis with the contact hygrometer is non-destructive.
The contact hygrometer emits high-frequency electromagnetic waves through two metal fins placed in contact with the material to be analysed. As this generated electromagnetic field is transmitted into the material to be analysed, the instrument returns the water content percentage.

CM METHOD

ANALYSIS BY CM METHOD
UNI 1121
It measures the humidity of a sample of masonry employing a calcium carbide hydration process.
The free moisture present in the sample reacts with the calcium carbide to produce gas; the increase in pressure inside the container is measured by a pressure gauge and then displayed as the percentage of moisture present in the sample.
A result with an accuracy of 0.1% is obtained within a few minutes.

Preserving cultural heritage is necessary for humankind, for all of us, so that we can remember that we are at the same time unique and always the same.

The humidity level in the air is a fundamental factor for human well-being and the healthiness of the environments in which we live (home, office, museums, churches, etc.).

For example, in a house, the humidity level should vary between 40 and 60% depending on the temperature. Lower or higher values can compromise comfort and therefore, liveability.
